Empowering Young People for Independence

This is a full-time permanent opportunity where you will be working alongside young people as they take their next steps into independence.

You will be responsible for helping them set goals, navigate challenges and build the skills for a thriving future.

The role involves providing advocacy, mentoring and practical support based on trauma-informed care and Advantaged Thinking principles — with a strong understanding of the Advantaged Thinking view.

  • Meet contract, performance and practice requirements upholding ethical and professional standards.
  • Contribute to practice improvements in Aftercare promoting high standards of service delivery.
  • Foster a culture that values young people's autonomy and self-determination.
About the Role

As an Aftercare Coach, your primary goal will be to help young people overcome obstacles and achieve their full potential. You will be responsible for developing independent living skills and strengthening connections to family, culture and community.

You will also facilitate group sessions on topics including social skills, job readiness, financial literacy and health and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working with young people and relevant tertiary qualifications in social science or equivalent.

  • A current NSW driver's licence and NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC).
  • Exceptional relationship-building and advocacy skills.
  • Energy to match the pace and enthusiasm of young people.
