Are you passionate about providing trauma-informed care to children and young people with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage? Aspire Homes Australia is seeking a skilled Youth Worker to join our team in Tamworth.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who shares our values of promoting positive outcomes and cultural safety for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people. You will work closely with a small team to provide therapeutic care and support to children and young people who have experienced significant adversity.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and Support: Provide day-to-day supervision and support to children and young people in placement, promoting their safety, well-being, and best interests.
- Promote Positive Outcomes: Work collaboratively with the team to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people, including developing individualised plans and supporting their educational and personal goals.
- Cultural Safety: Foster a positive cultural identity within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, ensuring their cultural needs are met and respected.
- Engage Positively: Build strong relationships with children and young people, actively engaging with them and promoting their participation in activities that promote their physical, emotional, and social development.
- Contribute to Team Efforts: Collaborate with the team to contribute to day-to-day needs and schedules within the house, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all.
- Current NSW Working with Children Check for paid employment.
- Current National Criminal History Check Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate (preferred but not essential).
- A valid driver's licence.
- Roadworthy and comprehensively insured vehicle.
