Empowering Youth Development Specialist

Making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people is at the forefront of this role. As an Empowering Youth Development Specialist, you will be working closely with vulnerable youth to foster their personal growth and development through evidence-based life skills programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and support to young people in developing essential life skills and achieving personal milestones.
  • Model positive behaviors, emotional intelligence, and social responsibility to inspire and motivate young people.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to tailor services that meet the unique needs of each young person, ensuring their individuality and diversity are valued.
  • Support daily tasks such as meal preparation, shopping, and housekeeping to create a safe and supportive environment.
  • Monitor and report concerns to ensure the wellbeing and safety of all individuals involved.
Requirements:
  • A Diploma in Community Services or Youth Work, or related field; Minimum Cert IV in Youth & currently working towards completion of a diploma.
  • Experience in youth services or residential care with a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and values, demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity.
  • A trauma-informed approach to working with young people facing significant challenges, prioritizing their physical, emotional, and psychological well-being.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage, motivate, and support youth effectively, fostering strong relationships and trust.
