HOBAN Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced EL1 Level Assistant Director Finance to join a government agency in Surry Hills, Sydney, NSW.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of budget and financial reporting activities.
- Manage relationships with the Department of Finance and other external stakeholders on budget matters.
- Deliver various finance projects, including the Agency's Budget and month-end reporting.
- Partner with internal and external teams to provide general accounting and strategic financial advice.
- Coordinate monthly General Ledger close and reporting procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage fixed assets register and oversee financial compliance of property lease contracts.
- Develop and present written financial and business materials, including briefs and reports.

About You:

- Qualifications in accounting or finance, with membership of CA/CPA or equivalent.
Desirable:
- Experience in financial reporting, audit processes, and government budget cycles.
- Knowledge of the Central Budget Management System (CBMS) and end-to-end asset management.
