Key Responsibilities

This laboratory coordinator position involves overseeing the daily operations of the conveyor belt testing laboratory, ensuring that all tests are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with established procedures and industry standards.

  • Conduct physical testing of PVC belt samples, fabrics, and fibers, comparing results to industry standards to create accurate belt certificates.
  • Schedule and prioritize testing activities to meet client requirements, working closely with the planning team to ensure timely completion.
  • Maintain laboratory procedures, test methods, and quality control protocols in line with Australian and ISO standards.
  • Manage equipment calibration activities, identifying and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Competent to advanced level knowledge of relevant Australian Standards for test methods.
  • Previous experience working in a material testing laboratory environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing or heavy engineering (desirable).
  • Basic knowledge of quality controls for testing processes.
  • Experience working with a quality management system/structure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent organizational abilities and a driven attitude.
