At Hooker & Heijden, we are seeking a seasoned Senior Intellectual Property Expert to join our team.
Compensation:
The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of $500,000, reflecting their expertise and experience in the field of intellectual property law.
About the Role:
This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished lawyer to lead our intellectual property practice. As a Senior Intellectual Property Expert, you will be responsible for providing high-quality legal advice and guidance to clients, while contributing to the firm's overall success and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Major Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of IP law, with a focus on trademarks, copyright, data protection, privacy, brand protection, disputes, infringements, licensing, and other related areas.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to supervise, train, and mentor junior lawyers.
- A positive attitude, with a solutions-focused approach and a commitment to seeing 'the bigger picture.'
- Compliance with firm requirements regarding file opening, management, billing, and reporting.
Practice Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through networking, seminars, and other sources.
- Develop and strengthen existing client relationships, with a focus on building trust and delivering value.
- Participate in business development events and initiatives, contributing to the growth and success of the firm.
Professional Development
- Stay up-to-date with relevant law and legislation, identifying areas for improvement and potential risks.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, including reading, attending seminars, and further study as needed.
- Attend Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminars and sessions, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
An experienced lawyer with a strong background in intellectual property law, holding a transferable practice and possessing advanced drafting skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and foster strong client relationships.
A team player with a positive attitude, able to remain calm under pressure and engage with colleagues in a professional and positive manner.
