About the Opportunity
Are you a seasoned technology lawyer seeking a new challenge? Do you have a passion for writing and a keen interest in technology law? We are seeking an experienced senior lawyer writer to join our team at Thomson Reuters, responsible for creating high-quality know-how resources for lawyers.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan, research, and write premium quality know-how resources, including practice notes, standard documents, checklists, and drafting notes.
• Stay up-to-date with technology law topics and monitor legal, practice, and market developments relevant to lawyers in both in-house and private practice environments.
• Support internal peer review processes to ensure content is accurate, up-to-date, and reflects current market practice.
• Collaborate with external customers, industry experts, and sector experts to build a deep understanding of commercial law and related developments.
• Provide legal expertise in responding to queries from external customers about information technology and intellectual property law and practice.
About You
• You are an admitted lawyer in Australia with 5+ years of PQE experience working as a technology lawyer, preferably in an in-house role or a top/mid-tier private practice.
• You have a strong understanding of technology law and experience in areas such as data processing, devices and hardware, software sales and licensing, software development, Apps, AI, systems maintenance and integration, technology company operations, cloud computing, Fintech, and other new technologies.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a keen ability to articulate and present your ideas, strategies, and decisions.
