Senior Lawyer Writer, Technology and Intellectual Property Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Lawyer Writer to join our team at Thomson Reuters. As a Senior Lawyer Writer, you will play a key role in creating high-quality know-how resources for lawyers in the Technology and Intellectual Property Practice Area.
Responsibilities:
- Content Creation: Plan, research, write, draft, edit and maintain premium quality know-how resources including practice notes, standard documents, checklists and drafting notes for lawyers.
- Legal Expertise: Keep up to date with technology law topics and monitor legal, practice and market developments relevant to lawyers in both in-house and private practice environments.
- Collaboration: Support internal peer review processes to ensure content is legally correct, kept continuously updated and maintained to reflect all relevant legal developments and reflect current market practice.
- External Engagement: Meet with external customers, industry and sector experts to build a superior understanding of commercial law and related developments to ensure relevant and premium quality content is delivered that anticipates, meets and exceeds customer needs.
- Query Response: Provide legal expertise in responding to queries from external customers about information technology and intellectual property law and practice.
- Content Planning: Assist in the planning, development and publication of commissioned content authored by commercial lawyers in private practice and in-house legal teams.
About You
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Lawyer Writer with a strong background in technology law and a proven track record of creating high-quality content. You will have:
- 5+ years of PQE experience working as a technology lawyer in a top or mid-tier law firm or in an in-house team.
- Excellent understanding of technology law, including data processing, devices and hardware, software sales and licensing, software development, Apps, AI, systems maintenance and integration, technology company operations, cloud computing, Fintech and other new technologies.
- Demonstrable interest in technology law and a commitment to helping re-invent the way legal know-how works.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to articulate and present ideas, strategies and decisions effectively.
- Proactive and flexible mindset with a willingness to take on new challenges and work collaboratively with the team.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
