Culinary Professional Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Culinary Professional to join our team in the preparation and cooking of meals for residents with special dietary needs. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy kitchen environment, ensuring that all meals are prepared with precision and creativity.

In this role, you will:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes with attention to detail and creativity;
  • Clean and maintain kitchen area, equipment, appliances, utensils and fixtures in accordance with standard cleaning and infection control processes;
  • Undertake basic record keeping of key kitchen and stock data;
  • Liaise with colleagues and suppliers in relation to stock ordering and control;
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth operations;
  • Contribute ideas for menu development and special events.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of commercial food preparation, cooking processes, food hygiene control and cleaning chemicals used in a kitchen;
  • Minimum one-year experience as a commercial cook, working in a hygiene-controlled environment;
  • Experience working within the Aged Care industry will be highly regarded;
  • Solid understanding of food safety legislation, texture modification and special needs diets.
