About the Role

The Policy Specialist will play a key role in ensuring alignment between two inter-related work streams to support the successful delivery of the PSMB Program.

This position requires strong policy development and implementation skills, as well as the ability to draft well-written papers and provide input to drafting instructions to Lawyers.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and implementation of the PSMB NPE and IGA work plans, and support the scoping, development and costing of options for Australian Government consideration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the PSMB NPE and IGA work plans.
  • Contribute to the development of the Inter-Governmental Agreement (IGA) negotiation strategy, draft IGA and IGA schedules.
  • Provide input to drafting instructions to Lawyers.
  • Support the scoping, development and costing of options for Australian Government consideration.
Requirements
  • Strong policy development and implementation skills.
  • Ability to draft well-written papers.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
What's on Offer

The successful candidate will be offered an APS6 hourly rate contract, notionally a 12month opportunity with a view to extend. This position is based in Canberra, other locations may be considered.

As this role is with the Federal Government, only Australian citizens that hold a baseline clearance or a willingness to obtain, will be considered for this vacancy.
