Job Description:

The Foster and Kinship Care Team have a vacancy for a Practitioner to join the team.

This position is responsible for leading intervention planning to ensure high-quality out-of-home care and support is provided to children, young people, and their approved carers.

You will be providing direct support to children and young people with their carers/families to bring about therapeutic change as informed by the Mercy Community Model of Practice which is needs-based, trauma-sensitive, and relationship/attachment-focused to assist them to reach their full potential.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  1. 3- or 4-year tertiary qualification in Social Work, Human Services, or related discipline; or relevant Diploma with relevant experience; or substantial experience in similar roles.
  2. Experience working with positive behaviour management strategies and support.
  3. Demonstrated experience in providing case assessment/work services to children and families within a child protection framework.
  4. Experience in child and carer's intervention plans based on assessments within a structured assessment framework.
