Job Title: Support Assistant

About the Role:
  1. Deliver tailored support to clients in accordance with their NDIS plan, promoting independence and well-being.
  2. Assist clients with daily living activities, such as personal care, nutrition, and mobility, while fostering a safe and respectful environment.
  3. Provide transportation assistance to clients, ensuring reliable and efficient support.
  4. Offer respite care to clients and their families, providing temporary relief and promoting long-term stability.
  5. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients' care plans and progress, facilitating effective collaboration and communication.
  6. Develop strong relationships with clients, their families, and other members of the care team, promoting open communication and mutual respect.
  7. Comply with health and safety regulations to ensure the safety and well-being of clients, staff, and others.
  8. Pursue ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest developments and best practices in the NDIS field, enhancing skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
  • Certificate 2 or 4 in individual support or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
  • Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disabilities, demonstrating a genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Availability for day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends, showcasing flexibility and adaptability.
  • Strong understanding of the NDIS and its guidelines, ensuring compliance and effective service delivery.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, prioritizing the safety and well-being of clients and staff.
  • Ability to work with diverse client populations, acknowledging and respecting the unique needs and preferences of each individual.
  • Basic care and first aid skills, demonstrating a commitment to client safety and well-being.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, facilitating effective communication and record-keeping.
  • Ongoing training and development opportunities, ensuring continuous growth and improvement.
