Credit Underwriter Role

This role plays a vital part in achieving that purpose. As a Credit Underwriter, you will be responsible for processing, verifying and deciding on residential mortgage credit submissions from distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and verify loan proposals to ensure they meet bank policies and legislative guidelines.
  • Exercise commercial acumen to make informed decisions about loan suitability and valuation ratios.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality service and support.
  • Provide training, guidance and support to staff to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain compliance with audit and regulatory requirements, including preparing files and registers for audits and visits.
  • Process credit-related applications efficiently and timely, and participate in related projects as needed.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
