About the Role
The Lead for Category Strategy and Planning is responsible for the continuous advancement of key practices in category management and for implementing our strategic vision across medium to long-term planning frameworks. This position will oversee our supplier management, category planning, and interlock processes, aiding teams in deriving insights throughout our value chain while supporting them through transitions. The role will actively drive enhancements, introducing best practice methodologies and standards to generate and maintain value, while also tracking progress towards our functional vision.

What will your day look like?
In your capacity as the Lead for Category Strategy and Planning, you will:
- Craft and manage the Category Management roadmap aligned with the Procurement Vision and Strategic Objectives.
- Instill a culture of continuous improvement and agility within Category Management to ensure alignment with the Bank's strategic goals.
- Facilitate the coordination and prioritization of resources and knowledge assets across all category management areas to maximize value and achieve functional objectives.
- Eliminate barriers, set strategic direction, and serve as a point of escalation for issues pertaining to key practice areas.
- Enhance category strategy and supplier management frameworks to mentor the category team towards sustainable value creation.
- Continuously refine frameworks to boost value delivery, ESG outcomes, and a dynamic supplier ecosystem.
- Build strong relationships with category teams, sponsors, and supplier-facing business units to foster effective supplier relationship management.
- Encourage the use of category tools and resources to support impactful business partnerships and provide real-time insights to category managers.
- Collaborate with category leadership to ensure consistent messaging and engagement with strategic suppliers.
- Monitor category management performance through value tracking metrics.
- Lead the strategic annual planning cycle for category management, ensuring alignment on key deliverables.
What will you bring?
To thrive in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Extensive experience in a leading consulting firm, technology start-up, or similar industry.
- Proven expertise in the end-to-end supply chain and procurement lifecycle, including category strategy and management.
- Experience in transformation strategy and execution, with the ability to influence change at various organizational levels.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead strategic change empathetically.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives based on data.
- A proactive approach to ownership and integrity in delivering results.
- Collaboration skills to drive performance and innovation from key supply partners.
