About the Organization
Established in 1928, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has been dedicated to providing emergency road, aeromedical, and primary health services to individuals in rural and remote regions of Australia. Our mission is to ensure that all Australians have access to essential primary health care services.

Mobile Patient Care (MPC) specializes in Non-Emergency Patient Transport primarily across Victoria and New South Wales. Our extensive fleet of ambulances is supported by RFDS aircraft to enhance our transport services.

MPC is committed to delivering clinical care for patients traveling between home and hospital, as well as to and from specialist clinics.

Role Overview
RFDS Mobile Patient Care is currently inviting applications for casual positions as Patient Transport Attendants and Paramedics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments and interventions during transport

• Ensure high-quality patient care and treatment throughout the journey

• Foster and maintain positive relationships with patients and stakeholders

• Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in line with RFDS MPC guidelines and NEPT regulations

• Operate independently and resolve issues within established policies and procedures

• Collaborate effectively with team members

• Stay informed about RFDS MPC policies and NEPT regulations to support best practices and optimal patient outcomes

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance), or

• Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic), or

• Equivalent qualifications for Ambulance Officers recognized by RFDS or DHHS

• Proof of successful completion of required clinical placements and a Clinical Skills Assessment, including a minimum of 400 hours operational stretcher experience under direct supervision, and successful completion of clinical skills assessment (e.g., stage 8), or

• Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia who has completed an appropriate bridging course for practice in the non-emergency patient transport sector

• Experience in the NEPT sector in a similar role is desirable but not mandatory

• Possession of a FULL Victorian Driver's license and capability to drive in both urban and rural traffic conditions

• Availability to work across a 7-day roster

Vaccination Requirements:
As part of the application process, candidates must provide evidence of the following vaccinations:

• Hepatitis B

• Chicken Pox

• Measles, Mumps, and Rubella

• Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis

• Annual Influenza

• COVID-19 (2 vaccinations + booster)

All positions are subject to a National Police Check and require a Working with Children Check.
