The Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) has been dedicated to serving Australians since 1928, providing essential emergency road, aeromedical, and primary health services for individuals in rural and remote areas.
Our mission is to ensure that all individuals have access to vital primary health care services.Mobile Patient Care (MPC) specializes in Non-Emergency Patient Transport primarily across Victoria and New South Wales, utilizing a comprehensive fleet of ambulances supported by RFDS aircraft.
MPC is committed to delivering clinical care for patients traveling to and from hospitals, as well as specialist clinics.
Role Overview
RFDS Mobile Patient Care is currently inviting applications for casual positions as Patient Transport Officers and Paramedics in the Echuca region.
Our team takes pride in providing the highest standard of patient care and treatment during the transport of individuals with diverse medical needs.
As a recognized leader in the Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT) sector, we offer comprehensive training, professional development opportunities, and a supportive organizational culture:Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient assessments and interventions during transport
- Ensure high-quality patient care and treatment throughout the journey
- Foster positive relationships with patients and stakeholders
- Evaluate the effectiveness of interventions in line with RFDS MPC guidelines and NEPT regulations
- Operate independently and resolve issues within established policies
- Collaborate effectively with team members
- Maintain knowledge of RFDS MPC policies and NEPT regulations to promote best practices and optimal patient outcomes
- Diploma of Paramedical Science (Ambulance), or
- Bachelor of Health Science (Paramedic), or
- Equivalent qualifications recognized by RFDS or DHHS
- Proof of successful completion of clinical placements and a Clinical Skills Assessment, including a minimum of 400 hours operational stretcher experience under supervision, and successful completion of clinical skills assessment (e.g., stage 8), or
- Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Australia, having completed an appropriate bridging course for non-emergency patient transport
- Experience in the NEPT sector is advantageous but not mandatory
- Possession of a FULL Victorian Driver's license with the ability to navigate both urban and rural traffic conditions
- Availability for shifts across a 7-day roster
