Reliability Engineer - Open Cut Coal Operation

Bengalla Mining Company is a leading open cut coal operation in Australia. We are seeking a talented and motivated Reliability Engineer to join our Asset Management team.

About the Role

This is a Monday–Friday, residential-based position offering a lifestyle-friendly work arrangement and the opportunity to contribute to a stable and respected mining operation.

  • Analyse equipment performance and data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and defect elimination (DE) investigations.
  • Develop and optimise asset strategies, including condition monitoring and life cycle plans.
  • Support the planning and execution of maintenance shutdowns and component replacements.
  • Provide engineering support to the Off-Site Repairs (OSR) team, including repair scope development and review.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Operations, OEMs and specialist contractors to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Champion reliability best practice and build capability across the business.
Requirements

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • A mechanical or electrical trade qualification.
  • A tertiary qualification in mechanical or electrical engineering (highly regarded).
  • Proven experience with heavy mobile equipment (HME) maintenance in an open cut mining environment.
  • Exposure to maintenance management systems.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the business.
