About the Role

Alfred Health is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Koori Liaison Officer to join our team. As a key member of our Indigenous Community Development team, you will play a vital role in providing culturally safe mental health services to Aboriginal children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement culturally safe mental health programs and services for Aboriginal children and their families.
  • Work closely with Aboriginal community controlled health organizations to provide primary and secondary consultations.
  • Build relationships with Elders and Aboriginal people to establish linkages and improve responsiveness, access, and support.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive mental health services.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in Aboriginal Studies, Mental Health, Community Work, Youth Work, Welfare Work, or Psychology.
  • Desirable: Experience working with Aboriginal communities in the delivery of social and emotional wellbeing programs or mental health services.
  • Full Covid-19 and 2024 Influenza vaccinations.
  • Current Victorian Driver's License.
  • Current Working with Children Check and be willing to undergo a Background Check.
