Electrical Design Leadership Opportunity

LVI Associates seeks an experienced Electrical Design Leader to play a key role in the electrical design and delivery for data center projects across the region.

The successful candidate will lead the end-to-end electrical design process, ensuring design integrity from concept through to the completion of construction documentation. This will involve overseeing external contractors, reviewing design submissions, and collaborating closely with the high-voltage delivery team to ensure smooth integration of electrical infrastructure and successful commissioning.

  • Lead the electrical design process for data center projects, ensuring design integrity and adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Maintain oversight and governance of the electrical design process, ensuring it meets project objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the high-voltage delivery team to ensure smooth integration of electrical infrastructure and successful commissioning.
  • Work with external stakeholders, including contractors, suppliers, and design consultants, to meet project electrical specifications and ensure smooth handover.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, including development, design, and operations, to provide guidance on equipment selection, design development, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Assist the commissioning team by resolving any design-related issues that arise during the testing and commissioning phases.

Key Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in electrical design and construction, with a preference for expertise in data center projects or similarly complex facilities.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in electrical protection and grading studies.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong decision-making skills and a commitment to taking ownership of project outcomes.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex electrical designs to a variety of stakeholders.

This role is based in Sydney, with occasional travel required to data center sites across the region and overseas as needed.
