Seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Design Professional to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to lead and manage electrical design projects, working as part of a global engineering consultancy.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced professional with strong leadership skills and extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design. As a Senior Electrical Design Professional, you will be responsible for designing, managing, and supervising projects, coordinating with other engineering disciplines, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Group Leader with monitoring engineering/CAD resource requirement for each project within your control.
  • Carry out detailed design while assuming the role of design leader, coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
  • Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.
  • Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings.
  • Maintain regular 'in house' design reviews and checks.
  • Monitor and control project progress, design variations, and project financial budgets.
  • Monitor contract staff or third-party appointments.
  • Maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Pursue new business opportunities where appropriate with existing and new clients.
  • Assist Group Leader with identifying and implementing your personal training/CPD requirements.
  • Participate in Site Works as required.
  • Develop and maintain good relations with various industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants, and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team's activities.
  • Assist and coordinate design activities, processes, and other technical standards within the MEP and CSA services.
  • Undertake technical reviews of the project at appropriate stages to ensure that the project approach and deliverables are achieved.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
  • Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this role is around $150,000 - $200,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a competitive benefits package, including employee ownership, health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.
