Our electrical distribution team is seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to join our NSW operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in power distributions design, street lighting, CAD drafting, and project management experience.

The successful candidate will utilise their knowledge of NSW utility standards and road authority standards to bolster the existing team's capabilities. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and management of electrical packages from scope stage to final certification
  • Liaison with power utilities and clients throughout the design process
  • Coordination with various project disciplines and stakeholders
  • Leading electrical design packages including electrical relocation, URD, and supply upgrade projects for major clients
  • Preparing ASP Level 3 related drawings and construction schedules to NSW utility standards
  • Preparing Environmental factor reports
  • Attending client meetings and assisting project managers with coordination of deliverables
  • Taking ownership of project and design deliverables
  • Preparing reports, proposals, and presentations for internal and external clients

For this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years relevant experience as a level 3 designer (ASP3)
  • Relevant higher education qualification in electrical engineering
  • Extensive experience in Utility electrical designs such as overhead & underground networks, asset relocations, supply upgrades, URD & Public Lighting
  • Experience in preparing technical reports & design documentation
  • Detailed knowledge of electrical distribution design and relevant Australian standards
  • Working knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to private electrical designs/wiring rules and lighting (AS3000 & AS1158)
  • Ability to check, comment, and approve distribution drawings for construction purposes
  • Project management skills including construction support and construction management
