QIFVLS is seeking an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Case Management Officer to provide paralegal support and holistic services to clients in Townsville, Queensland.
We are a state-wide Community Legal Practice with offices across 8 regions in Queensland, providing free legal services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims of family violence and/or sexual assault. As a genuine occupational requirement, the successful candidate must be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
The Case Management Officer is responsible for providing invaluable paralegal support to our solicitors and delivering holistic support services to clients. This includes performing risk assessments, referrals to non-legal support agencies, and presenting community education sessions.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality paralegal administration support to assist the legal team;
- Maintain accurate and relevant client records;
- Present community education sessions;
- Stakeholder engagement, networking and liaising with community organisations;
- Attend, participate and present to forums in a manner consistent with our standards;
The successful candidate will be personable, caring and possess excellent administration and organisational skills. A current open drivers' licence is mandatory, along with a willingness to provide a national police clearance and eligibility to apply for a Queensland Working with Children Check.
