Job Title: Communications Technical Writer

About the Opportunity

This is an exciting chance for a skilled Technical Writer to contribute to the development of high-quality technical documentation and training materials within a large State Government department in East Perth.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop approximately 60-100 work instructions for Communications Technician tasks, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Participate in operational site visits with Communications Technicians to gather information associated with the work instructions, fostering collaboration and understanding.
  • Create comprehensive training materials to support the Communications competency framework, promoting employee development.
  • Maintain consistency and compliance with current work standards, guaranteeing excellence in communication.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in writing and editing technical documentation, showcasing strong analytical and conceptual skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret operational manuals, design specifications, and technical documentation, highlighting effective problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication.
  • Superb written and verbal communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying complex information effectively.
  • Good analytical and conceptual skills, including a sound understanding of publications development principles, driving success in the role.
  • Experience with Document Management Systems, e.g. EDRMS, showcasing technical proficiency.
  • Proficient in MS Office products, especially Word, Excel, PDF, and Outlook, demonstrating adaptability and efficiency.
  • A category 3 medical assessment is required before commencement, ensuring candidate suitability.
