Job Title: Technical Writer

About this role:

  • We are seeking a skilled technical writer to develop documentation for our projects.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documents, including operations and maintenance manuals and functional control descriptions.
  • They will also provide expertise advice in discussions and workshops on documentation development and handover processes.
  • In addition, they will analyse and provide feedback on current templates to ensure they meet the needs of our end-users.
  • The ideal candidate will engage with key stakeholders to establish and analyse user requirements to achieve strategic operational objectives.
  • They will also ensure assigned tasks are being progressed and reviewed in line with assigned targets to ensure overall strategic timelines are being met.
  • As part of their role, they will contribute expert advice to the development of treatment expertise, operations, processes and technology to enhance overall technical knowledge.

About you:

  • You must hold a tertiary level qualification in a relevant scientific or engineering field or have extensive experience creating technical documents.
  • Substantial experience of technical writing and editing for the creation of documentation is required.
  • Demonstrated understanding in technical report writing and preparation of standards and procedures is necessary.
  • Demonstrated skills in engineering disciplines are preferred but not essential.
  • Advanced technical and scientific report writing skills are essential.
  • Highly developed analytical and conceptual skills are required.
  • Advanced interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills are necessary.
  • Ability to demonstrate the values and behaviours that contribute to a constructive, high performance culture is essential.
