Job Description

We are seeking a talented UI Chapter Lead to join our Digital and Customer Experience team. As a key member of our chapter, you will be responsible for defining the vision, processes, and responsibilities of our UI team.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Define and Lead the UI Chapter
  • Establish and evolve the chapter's mission, operating rhythm, and standards for visual and interaction design
  • Set tangible goals for UI craft, consistency, and career progression
  • Champion the UI Designer role broadly across CommSec, collaborating with Product, CX, Engineering, and Brand to embed design quality in every phase

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • 7+ years of experience designing beautiful, effective digital interfaces in agile product teams
  • Proven ability to lead UI strategy in complex, evolving product environments
  • Mastery of typography, colour, layout, motion, and brand translation for digital products
  • Experience establishing and driving adoption of design systems at scale
  • A track record of coaching UI designers to improve their craft and career outcomes
  • Ability to balance design detail and speed in fast-paced delivery settings
  • Advanced expertise in Figma (preferred), Adobe Creative Suite, prototyping tools, and visual QA workflows
  • Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG), inclusive design principles, and digital compliance requirements
  • Strong skills presenting designs, rationale and strategy to cross-functional and executive stakeholders
