A dynamic opportunity exists for a qualified Diesel Mechanic to join our Asset Management department at Bell Bay Aluminium, a leading global aluminium smelter.

We strive to deliver exceptional maintenance services to support the production of primary aluminium products. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our heavy mobile fleet, including equipment unique to our smelter.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A commitment to safety, with a strong focus on maintaining a safe working environment for themselves and their team members;
  • Trade qualification in Diesel Mechanics or a related field;
  • Proven experience working with modern electronics and unique heavy industry equipment, preferably in a well-established maintenance environment;
  • Sound computer skills and the ability to work effectively in a team;
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing roster patterns and potential night shifts, if required;
  • Good problem-solving capabilities and a willingness to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives;

In exchange for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive salary package, including an estimated $130,000 per annum, as well as comprehensive benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development.

About the Role:

This is a permanent full-time position, offering a 7x day fortnight rotating roster (12 hr shifts). You will be reporting to our Crew Leader and will be responsible for managing planned and breakdown maintenance across our heavy mobile fleet. This will involve communicating with internal and external stakeholders, utilising leadership skills through mentorship of our Apprentices, and working autonomously as well as within a team.
