We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our Asset Management department at our Bell Bay Aluminium smelter in Tasmania.

About the Role

This permanent full-time opportunity offers a chance to grow your skillset working with modern electronics and unique heavy industry gear.

">

You will be responsible for managing planned and breakdown maintenance across our fleet of heavy mobile equipment, including machinery unique to our smelter.

">

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to utilise your leadership skills through mentorship of apprentices and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Manage maintenance activities across our heavy mobile fleet, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently.">
  • Utilise your technical expertise to diagnose and repair complex equipment issues.">
  • Mentor and support apprentices in their development, promoting a culture of continuous learning and improvement.">
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure effective communication and a shared understanding of project requirements.">

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • ">
  • A trade qualification in diesel mechanics or a related field.">
  • Experience working with heavy industry equipment and modern electronics.">
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.">
  • C class drivers licence.">
  • Flexibility to adopt changes in roster patterns or night shifts if required.">
