We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Mechanic Trainee - Vehicle Maintenance Specialist in Launceston. In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in servicing, maintaining, and repairing light vehicles under expert supervision.

The successful candidate will be employed by Work & Training for the duration of their apprenticeship, which will include four years of full-time employment with full entitlements, including four weeks of holidays per year. Throughout the apprenticeship, you will receive theory training conducted by TasTAFE, consisting of six one-week blocks per year, as well as mentoring and support from experienced professionals.

As a Mechanic Trainee - Vehicle Maintenance Specialist, you will learn the necessary skills to service, maintain, and repair light vehicles while working in a team environment. This will involve assisting other members of the team with servicing and problem-solving, as well as contributing to workshop cleaning and organization.

About the Role
  • Estimated salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience)

  • Knowledge of Work Health & Safety requirements
  • Ability to work with oils, grease, petrol, and diesel
  • A genuine interest in working on cars, with prior experience highly regarded
