We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our Retail team in Sydney. This role will be responsible for driving growth by identifying and onboarding new supplier opportunities.

As a Category Development Manager with Amazon's Retail team, you will utilize data to identify selection gaps that are most important to customers across multiple categories. You will then develop strong relationships with suppliers who can provide this selection and account manage them to ensure a successful launch and ongoing growth.

The ideal candidate will have experience developing and growing supplier relationships with a proven track record of exceeding sales goals. They will also work closely with cross-functional internal teams to identify opportunities and best practices within areas such as category, customer marketing, product set-up, supply chain, and advertising.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand market trends across multiple categories to identify the most relevant selection for customers
  • Own new supplier recruitment including end-to-end sales cycle from prospecting to account management post-launch
  • Owning C-suite level negotiations that enable the onboarding of new suppliers
  • Educating new suppliers on Amazon's tools and systems to enable them to become self-sufficient in managing their catalog, inventory, and performance
  • Achieving business and financial objectives to drive growth of Amazon's Retail business
  • Identifying opportunities to improve the Retail business for suppliers through scalable solutions and managing the roll-out of these solutions
  • Working closely with category, marketing, supply, product, and other key internal Amazon stakeholders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Demonstrated track record of success in meeting and exceeding business and/or financial KPIs
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to cross-functional internal and external audiences
  • Ability to work with a wide range of people at all decision-making levels, including C-suite
  • Experience with large data sets and insight generation using Excel, SQL, or other data analysis tools

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
