\Job Overview

The Claims Management Officer plays a crucial role in providing claims management services, ensuring timely and accurate processing of employee claims.

\Key Responsibilities
  • Provide rehabilitation case management functions for non-complex WorkCover and income protection claims.
  • Complete and manage records for WorkCover and income protection claims.
  • Enter leave on the department's payroll system for employees on WorkCover, income protection, and/or graduated return to work programs.
  • Reconcile WorkCover wage payments.
  • Maintain claims management records in accordance with the Workers' Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003, the department's Workplace Rehabilitation procedure, and the whole-of-government document retention requirements.
  • Proactively review, modify, and change claims management and organisational health processing to improve processes and client service delivery.
  • Liaise with WorkCover Queensland, QSuper (or other income protection insurers), regions, and schools in relation to employee claims.
  • Provide a responsive and quality client service.
  • Communicate with all stakeholders in an empathetic and respectful manner.
  • Organise individual workload to ensure timely and accurate processing, including meeting fortnightly pay cut off deadlines.
  • Provide accurate advice on WorkCover claim, income protection, and graduated return to work processes.

You will work as part of a team to ensure that deadlines and commitments are met. This role will work within Organisational Safety and Wellbeing team with a focus on continuous improvement and customer-focused principles.

This role can be based within any Department Regional Office.
