We are seeking an experienced Community Liaison Specialist to join our team at Monash University. As a key member of our community engagement team, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining constructive relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and community groups.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and community groups to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Develop and implement community engagement strategies to promote the university's activities and initiatives.
  • Provide internal advice on external stakeholder considerations and restraints for consideration during project and operational planning and activities.
  • Work with the university's community engagement function to create community engagement strategies and tactics as they relate to appropriate systems.
  • Establish contact with landowners to negotiate access for required university activities.
  • Notification and liaison with neighbouring properties to advise of impacts of scheduled activities.
  • Regular travel across the university's network.
About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor Degree in Communications or a relevant discipline.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience and success working in partnership with residents, industry groups, supplier chain participants, and community organisations.
  • A high level of effective communication, both written and verbal with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal corporate and external groups, including property, legal and environment, cultural heritage departments, as well as industry bodies, key stakeholders, local government.
  • Exceptional negotiation and relationship building skills.
  • A willingness to commit to regular travel across the university's network.
