Job Overview
The role of Advanced Clinical Coder is a critical component of our clinical coding team, responsible for assigning accurate and complex codes to patient records.
As a seasoned clinical coder with extensive experience in ICD-10-AM, you will be required to work independently and as part of a team to ensure consistency and accuracy in coding practices.
- Assign accurate and complex codes to patient records using ICD-10-AM.
- Meet quality coding and throughput key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with the clinical coding team to ensure consistency and accuracy in coding practices.
- Analyse and abstract data from patient records to inform coding decisions.
- Develop and maintain expertise in clinical coding and stay up-to-date with changes in coding guidelines.
Key Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A minimum of three years clinical coding experience using ICD-10-AM at a tertiary hospital.
- Extensive experience across a broad range of specialties.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and communication skills.
- High level attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to analyse, abstract, interpret and report information in clinical coding forums.
