Clinical Coding Specialist

This role is pivotal in enhancing the proficiency of our coding team by delivering targeted education, conducting coding audits, and collaborating with clinicians and clinical documentation specialists to elevate the accuracy and quality of clinical coding and documentation.

As an experienced professional, you will inspire and motivate our team, ensuring continuous support and professional development. Your extensive knowledge of the Australian Coding Standards will be instrumental in helping the department achieve its targets, secure successful audits, and provide ongoing guidance to internal stakeholders.

You will be a valued member of a highly skilled team working in a bright, collaborative environment, and utilizing our user-friendly, customized Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system to uphold the highest standards in clinical coding.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver targeted education and conduct coding audits to enhance the proficiency of our coding team

- Collaborate with clinicians and clinical documentation specialists to elevate the accuracy and quality of clinical coding and documentation

- Inspire and motivate our team, ensuring continuous support and professional development

Requirements:

- 5+ years' experience in Australian Coding Standards (ICD 10 AM, ACHI, and ACS)

- 3+ years' experience in coding education and audit experience in a tertiary level hospital

- Demonstrated experience using 3M Codefinder and extensive knowledge of casemix and clinical coding
