Job Description:

Clinical Coders are required to accurately and efficiently code inpatient episodes of care using the ICD-10-AM classification system. This involves analyzing clinical documentation, abstracting relevant data, and assigning codes in accordance with Australian coding standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high-quality coding outputs while adhering to deadlines and participating in quality improvement activities.

They will also need to stay up-to-date with coding standards, policies, and continuous education.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous work experience in clinical coding or a strong aptitude, passion, and eagerness to be trained as an entry-level coder.
  • Strong understanding of anatomy, disease processes, and medical terminology.
  • High attention to detail, excellent time management, and ability to meet throughput targets.
  • Commitment to ethical coding and quality documentation practices.
