Senior Claims Manager

A senior case manager is required to lead and support our case managers who assess long-term, death and terminal illness claims.


The successful candidate will own a small portfolio of complex claims across income protection, death and terminal illness, and be the team's go-to expert - sharing knowledge, coaching on best practice, and role-modeling our claims philosophy.


The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Ensure our claims processes are followed, and quality standards are met, including reporting and remediation where needed.
  • Help improve how we work: review and update procedures, contribute to key projects, and find smart efficiencies. Be open to new ideas and methods.

This role requires a solid end-to-end experience in retail life claims, with strong policy interpretation across different cover types, as well as a strong understanding of LICOP (Life Insurance Code of Practice) and broad knowledge of medical, financial, legal, product, and regulatory aspects of life insurance.


The ideal candidate will have a clear grasp of the legal framework for insurance contracts and strict respect for confidentiality of medical and financial information, proven ability to coach, mentor, and lift team capability, customer focus, great communication skills, initiative, and strong problem-solving skills.


Certificate IV in Life Insurance is preferred.
