Arup's Australasia Region is seeking an experienced Water Business Engineering Lead to join our team. As a key member of the project leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing delivery, leading contracting and teaming discussions, and mentoring discipline leads across the region.

The Opportunity

  • You will lead, direct and challenge design teams to deliver technically robust, sustainable, integrated solutions that align with project objectives for budget, schedule, quality, and additional objectives.
  • A recognized project leader in the industry, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of the detailed design process and have experience delivering multi-disciplinary major urban water projects.
  • Your background will include experience with various procurement types, such as working directly for end clients, contractors, and asset owners.
  • You will manage project risks and work with team members and partners to resolve escalated issues, ensuring commercial success by leveraging your experience in negotiating and managing contractual arrangements.
  • Furthermore, you will support Business Development and Team Leadership activities within the Australasian water business.

Is this role right for you?

  • Hold recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in an Engineering discipline.
  • Chartered membership of a relevant institution, or equivalent professional body.
  • Appreciate and have extensive experience working across the value chain of strategically and commercially important water and wastewater infrastructure investments.
  • Have experience in detailed design risk management and facilitating the mitigation of projects risks.
  • Be able to implement best practice design processes, standards, and workflows.
  • Proven working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.
  • Be recognised as an expert within the water industry.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership experience in Collaborative and Design and Construct contracting arrangements.
