
Psychosocial and Behavioural Specialist

We are seeking highly skilled professionals to fill a challenging role as Psychosocial and Behavioural Specialists.
The successful candidate will work closely with youth, individuals with disabilities, and others to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop support plans that promote the least intrusive/restrictive actions possible.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough psychosocial and functional behavioural assessments using evidence-based recovery approaches.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of the NDIS Commission and its related rules, including restrictive practices and behaviour support.
- Develop and implement Positive Behavioural Support Plans (PBSP) to help participants achieve their goals.
- Prioritise the use of least restrictive means, reducing and eliminating restrictive practices wherever possible.
Requirements:
- Relevant degree in Human Services or a related field, with registration from the relevant regulatory body.
- Current registration as a 'Core' or higher Behavioural Support Practitioner with the NDIS Commission.
- A minimum of two years' experience working in trauma-informed care and with psychosocial disabilities in various sectors.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to establish professional relationships, and a valid driver's license.
- Up-to-date COVID vaccination status or a valid exemption.
- Alignment with our organisation's values.
About You:
- You must have a strong background in social work, behavioural sciences, nursing, psychology, or a related field.
- You should have experience in completing psychosocial and functional behavioural assessments, focusing on recovery and participant-centred care.
- You need to have clear and effective communication skills, be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders, and possess a valid driver's license.
