Job Title: Therapeutic & Behavioural Specialists

 

Key Duties:

The role of a Therapeutic and Behavioural Specialist is multifaceted and requires an individual with exceptional interpersonal skills, a compassionate nature, and a deep understanding of human behaviour.

Some of the key duties of this position include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify support needs and develop strategies for improvement.
  • Collaborating with participants, their families, and other stakeholders to create personalized psychosocial and behavioural plans that promote growth and development.
  • Providing training and reviews to ensure effective implementation of support plans and address any emerging concerns.
  • Engaging with youth, people with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations to provide tailored support and promote community participation.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you will require a relevant degree in Human Services, such as Social Work, Behavioural Sciences, Nursing, Psychology, or Social Science, and registration with the associated regulatory body. Additionally, you must have current registration with the NDIS Commission as a 'Core' or higher Behavioural Support Practitioner.

A minimum of two years' experience working in trauma-informed care and with psychosocial disabilities in the health, education, justice, disability, out-of-home-care, and/or specialist homelessness sector is also essential. You should possess strong communication skills, be able to establish professional relationships with participants and their families, and hold a valid driver's license and comprehensive insurance.

A valid police check, Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Clearance are mandatory requirements. Furthermore, you must be up-to-date with your COVID vaccination status or have a valid exemption.
