We are seeking a Behaviour Support Specialist to provide high-quality services to individuals with disabilities in Sydney, AU.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and dedicated professional to work as a Behaviour Support Specialist. You will be responsible for managing your own diary and visiting clients in their homes, while planning, delivering and evaluating psychosocial interventions to help them achieve their goals.

You will support individuals of all ages with various disabilities, including intellectual, physical and mental health conditions. Your daily tasks will include providing comprehensive assessments, developing behaviour support plans and collaborating with key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough behaviour assessments and design, implement and evaluate behaviour support plans;
  • Provide support to individuals with intellectual, physical and mental health disabilities;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients and their families;
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure best practice and outcomes;
  • Work autonomously and flexibly to meet the needs of clients.
Requirements
  • A recognised degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or related field;
  • Ability to conduct comprehensive behaviour assessments;
  • Knowledge of the Positive Behaviour Support Capability framework and understanding of restrictive practice regulations;
  • Commitment to a person-centred approach;
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Benefits

This role requires a current Driver's License, access to a comprehensively insured vehicle, and full vaccination against Covid-19. A Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screen Check are also required.

The successful candidate will have flexibility to work across participants' schedules and be able to travel approximately 45 minutes from their home. Full-time hours are Monday to Friday, with some flexibility required.
