Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled professional to join our team as an Application Support Specialist. This role involves providing ongoing maintenance and support for various applications, ensuring their smooth operation and meeting client expectations.

  • Provide continuous support and maintenance for the application portfolio, addressing any issues or concerns that may arise.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve application delivery and ensure client satisfaction.
  • Triage escalated incidents, requests for change, problems, errors, and service requests, and work towards resolving them promptly.
  • Develop effective workarounds for users when a resolution is not readily available.
  • Assist in implementing and upgrading systems, as well as monitoring integrations to ensure they function correctly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A solid understanding of application development and technical support principles.
  • Knowledge of application architectures, including experience with enterprise-level application portfolios, COTS, SaaS, and delivered solutions.
  • Experience with software packaging, configuration, and scripting in a hybrid environment.
  • Familiarity with middleware and integration technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
  • At least 2 years of experience in the IT industry, with a background in delivery, software support, and/or development.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
  • Extensive information systems and supervisory management experience in a complex organization, preferably within the health sector.
  • ITIL qualifications and service management experience in an operational environment, desirable.
  • Certifications in relevant fields, desirable.
