This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Business Analyst to join our team.

Job Description

As a Business Analyst, you will play a key role in delivering critical IT and communications services that support front-line operations and internal functions. You will perform commercial analysis to inform strategic decision-making, assess financial performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for business growth.

You will analyse and synthesise data to develop business cases supporting objectives and ICT needs, leveraging analytical skills to interpret complex data and offer strategic recommendations. Additionally, you will design and implement data collection, reporting tools, and benchmarks, leading the sharing of lessons learned, including capturing post-implementation reviews and suggestions for improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform financial analysis to inform strategic decision-making, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for business growth.
  2. Develop business cases to support objectives and ICT needs, leveraging analytical skills to interpret complex data and offer strategic recommendations.
  3. Design and implement data collection, reporting tools, and benchmarks, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  4. Optimise digital project spending by identifying cost trends and opportunities for savings and improved efficiency.
  5. Gather and document user requirements through interviews, workshops, surveys, and workflow analysis, ensuring accuracy and completeness in documentation.
  6. Lead the design and development of requirements and functional specifications using financial models and analysis tools, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  7. Support the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, ensuring they align with organisational goals and strategic objectives.
Requirements
  1. 7 years' experience required in business analysis, preferably with certifications such as IIBA or Certified Analytics Professional (CAP).
  2. Solid understanding of Benefits Management Frameworks, such as NSW Benefits Management Framework.
  3. Extensive experience as a business analyst in both agile and waterfall methodologies for large ICT programs and projects.
  4. Experience in creating instructional and procedural documentation and delivering presentations.
  5. Proven ability to manage time, prioritise tasks, and maintain strong organisational skills.
