About the Role

Australian Unity is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our Home Health program. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in delivering in-home support services to our aged care customers, empowering them to live independently and safely in their own homes and communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care and support to customers, including assistance with daily living activities such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Transport customers to appointments, shopping, and social outings, and provide personal care and support during these activities.
  • Build relationships with customers and their families, conducting client observations and providing ongoing support and training.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and policies to ensure the safety of customers and staff.

Requirements

  • Current Australian Driver's License and ownership of a reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Flexibility and availability to work rosters between Monday and Friday.
  • Full vaccination for COVID-19 with a minimum of two doses.
  • Proficiency in an additional language, such as Mandarin, Vietnamese, Spanish, Arabic, Lebanese, or Greek, is valued but not mandatory.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Disability Support Worker
  • Community Services/Mental Health worker
  • Assistant in Nursing (AIN)
  • Bachelor of Social Work/Nursing
