As a Support Specialist, you will have the rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of individuals with disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide support and assistance to NDIS participants living in their private homes.

The Role

This involves providing personal care, community access, and manual handling to support individuals with varying levels of ability. A key aspect of this role is working collaboratively with individuals to develop personalized plans that cater to their unique needs and goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing support and assistance to NDIS participants in their private homes, including personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping
  • Facilitating community access, including outings and social activities, to promote independence and social interaction
  • Performing manual handling tasks, such as lifting and transferring, while adhering to safe work practices and protocols
Requirements
  • Minimum of 6 months paid experience in the disability sector or a related field
  • A relevant qualification in Disability, Aged Care, or Individual Support, or equivalent experience and training
  • Ability to work short shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
  • Willingness to undergo a South Australian Working with Children's Check, an NDIS Worker Screening Check, and obtain a First Aid Certificate (HTLAID003 or HLTAID011)
