Health Safety and Environmental Specialist

As a Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) Specialist with Duratec Australia, you will be part of a fast-growing national presence in the Engineering, Construction and Remediation project contractor industry.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced HSE professional to champion the safety compliance effort on various projects throughout the Northwest. The successful candidate will work closely with the Safety Lead to provide guidance and support on the health and safety of both current and upcoming remediation projects.
Key Responsibilities- Create and implement HSE documentation to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and company procedures.
- Advise and educate site personnel on relevant WHS acts, regulations, Australian standards, and codes of practice.
- Administer incident and hazard reporting processes and actions to maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct site inspections and audits, pre-starts, and Toolbox meetings to identify potential hazards and risks.
- Coordinate training programs, including the maintenance of competency standards, to ensure site personnel have the necessary skills and knowledge.
- Analyse HSE performance, report, and system updates to improve overall safety performance.
- Maintain the company's Integrated Management System to the 45001, 9001, 14001, and OFSC accreditation levels.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar HSE role, preferably within the construction industry, and possess a strong understanding of WHS legislation and regulations.
- You will be an enthusiastic advocate for safety, able to influence others to adopt a positive safety culture.
- You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with site personnel, subcontractors, and site leaders.
- You will be proficient in Microsoft Office and have good time management and multitasking skills.
- You will hold a qualification in Health & Safety or equivalent, and a current Driver's License.
This is a competitive salary position, offering a base salary of around AU$90,000 - AU$110,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits such as site vehicle, company-paid parental leave, salary packaging options, discounted health and wellbeing services, employee assistance program, first aid and mental first aid support officers available, and employee referral programs up to AU$2000.
