We are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused Claims Advisor with 5+ years' experience in insurance claims to join our team at Willis Towers Watson. The role may involve occasional travel to support client and business needs.

This permanent full-time role will be seconded to a leading ASX20 company for a 12-month period with options to renew. As a Claims Advisor, you will assist the Client Managing Counsel with non-legal insurance claims management work, including:

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to manage injury liability claims in accordance with our client's Charter Values and Risk Management Framework.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to obtain evidence in accordance with disclosure obligations in relation to injury liability claims.

As an employee of Willis Towers Watson, you will report directly to our Global Client Advocate. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Driving portfolio-wide strategies to optimize management and settlement of injury liability claims.
  • Managing evidence, including conducting and overseeing factual investigations.
  • Providing instructions to and having day-to-day oversight and strategic management of the external legal panel in relation to litigated injury claims.
  • Managing the settlement authorization process to obtain financial authorizations from the Principal, Group Workers' Compensation.
  • Managing internal stakeholder engagement on individual injury liability claims.
  • Assisting in the development and delivery of targeted training for internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Personal Injury or Worker's compensation claims handling experience at an insurer or broker.
  • Holder of all regulatory licenses, permissions, and technical or other requirements applicable under local legislation.
  • Highly organized, detail-focused individual who takes pride in their work.
  • Knowledge of insurance regulations, guidelines, and legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Strong ability to build and manage relationships.
  • Sound ability to facilitate training and presentations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook.
  • Some travel will be required, and you are required to have a valid and appropriate driver's license.
  • Law Degree or equivalent formal qualification would be highly regarded but is not a prerequisite.
  • Cert IV in general insurance and Diploma qualification (or equivalent experience) would be highly regarded but is not a prerequisite.
