Financial Crime Operations play a pivotal role within the Financial Crime Services space.
This team is accountable for developing, implementing and leading the Group's financial crime shared services.
They lead the approach to managing Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) and Sanctions risks through operational services such as Transaction Monitoring and Economic Discrepancies Division. These streams support the FCS purpose of relentlessly pursuing financial crime elimination.
The Complex Investigations team in Melbourne requires an AML/CTF Manager to support the function by providing oversight in a highly regulated environment.
About Your Role
- Oversight of the AML/CTF team's regulatory obligations and daily operations.
- Daily oversight of confirmed suspect activity to identify emerging trends and reporting insights.
- Driving capability uplift relating to AML/CTF processes.
- Assisting Senior Management with building and executing the delivery plan.
- Ensuring regular coaching sessions with direct reports on development, performance and career goals.
- Championing a Continuous Improvement culture within the team.
- Reviewing quality issues and reworks, inputting action plans to improve results.
- Leading by example, ensuring alignment with group values and people capabilities.
- Engagement with internal teams including Line 1 & Line 2 Financial Crime Compliance teams.
You will report directly to the Senior Manager Financial Crime Operations. This position can have up to 15 direct reports. Please note that the position is for our Melbourne office.
We're interested in hearing from individuals with:
- Experience in compliance, AML/CTF, Sanctions and ABC roles, along with strong understanding of the AML/CTF Act and Rules.
- Demonstrable leadership experience.
- Maintaining effective relationships across multiple business units.
- Strong financial crime knowledge and ability to drive continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated analytical abilities with excellent organisational skills.
- Ability to challenge existing processes to optimise them while adhering to Group Policies and Standards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and Group Policies and Standards relating to financial crime prevention.
