About the Role

The Director of Strategic Operations plays a pivotal role in driving strategy and operations for a complex division, overseeing 280+ staff members. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead one of the most impactful service portfolios, making a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable people.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead one of the most mission-critical portfolios with over 10 core services.
  • Mentor and guide four direct reports and a broader workforce of 280+ staff members.
  • Strengthen systems and accountability to drive risk maturity and operational consistency.
  • Champion a culture of psychological safety, collaboration, and care.
  • Represent the organization with clarity and confidence in regulatory and funding forums.
  • Partner with other executive leaders to shape organizational strategy and impact.
  • Inspire a culture of continuous improvement in a dynamic and regulated environment.
Key Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience at executive level in community services or a related human services sector.
  • Strong capability in leading through change and building team capability during periods of transformation.
  • Proven ability to engage with regulators, government funders, and boards with credibility and presence.
  • High levels of strategic thinking, planning, and execution across diverse programs.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating complex stakeholder environments with emotional intelligence.
  • A coachable mindset and values alignment with the organization's mission.
