The NSW Decarbonisation Hub is a pioneering initiative aimed at driving the state towards a net-zero emissions future by 2050, with an ambitious target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by half by 2030. As a key player in this effort, the Communications & Engagement Officer will play a vital role in promoting the hub's mission and objectives through effective communication strategies.
Responsibilities include developing and implementing internal and external communication plans to raise awareness about the hub's programs and outcomes. This will involve creating engaging content for various digital channels, managing social media platforms, and fostering relationships with stakeholders across government, industry, and academia.
In addition to these tasks, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development of social media content that showcases research outcomes, industry partnerships, and research profiles to achieve strategic goals. They will also prepare and distribute external communications content to promote the hub and its networks via a monthly newsletter.
Maintaining strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders is crucial for the success of this role. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.

Requirements:
- A relevant tertiary qualification and subsequent experience or equivalent competence gained through education, training, and experience.
- A proven track record in delivering marketing strategies that achieve measurable outcomes in support of organisational objectives.
- Demonstrated ability to distill complex information into straightforward messages for a diverse group of stakeholders in support of strategic goals.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and proficiency in influencing and negotiating to achieve outcomes.
