Job Title: Aboriginal Health Worker

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and culturally sensitive individual to join our team as an Aboriginal Health Worker. This role is pivotal in providing primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, primarily responding to their physical, emotional, cultural, and environmental needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander clients.
  • Bridge cultural connections and advocate for patients to deliver culturally safe health services.
  • Work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage with established links to their local community.
  • Hold a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or a relevant Certificate III health qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the local Aboriginal community, including awareness of issues impacting health and wellbeing.
