
Environmental Leadership Role

Our organization seeks a dedicated and experienced professional to lead the development and implementation of environmental initiatives.
This role is responsible for collaborating with senior management and regional teams to develop and execute sustainability strategic plans and initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of sustainability principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The Sustainability Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders to design and deploy innovative solutions to achieve sustainability goals. This may involve partnering with external stakeholders, including start-ups, SMEs, government agencies, and local players.
The successful candidate will be able to own the sustainability reporting process, leveraging data to accelerate transformation within the organization. They will also be responsible for empowering staff through relevant training, processes, and tools to drive sustainability deployment.
In addition to these responsibilities, the Sustainability Manager will advise senior management on sustainability trends, regulations, and innovations. They will represent the organization in external forums and media as a sustainability advocate.
To be considered for this role, applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Environment, Sustainability, Business, or a related field (Masters preferred). They should also have a minimum of 5 years of related work experience and a passion for sustainability with a pragmatic and constructive attitude.
Desirable skills include strategic thinking, change management, excellent communication, influencing, and networking skills, as well as experience in identifying customer needs and developing action plans. Knowledge of the Australia Innovation ecosystem (public agencies, Institutes of Higher Learning, start-ups) is a plus.
